I mean, let's be honest. Year after year almost everyone denigrates the new movies, right? But this past year produced a gratifying number of highly watchable films (albeit not each one for everyone's taste).My list appears in two sections, those I've seen myself and those for which there was critical (or Academy -- which is different) attention. Between the two I assert there are maybe twice as many good films as in many, many previous years.
