Pat , I have to admit that your budget is over my capabilities but if I were you , definetly , I would check out the Classe SSP-25 and SSP-75 . Both are preamplifiers & surround decoders . Check too their line of multichannel amplifiers .Look into the archives of SGHT for some other reviews .
Another thing , with all my respect , your TV set may be a little short of what you are planning to set-up. You may consider a less expensive pre-pro/amp combination and getting a new HDTD with big screen if your primary option here is video. If by the contrary , your preferense is audio , go for it first and stay with the TV , is less detrimental to the sound than a big screen in the middle of your soundstage.
