Vertical bars on right side of televisions

209.176.105.98

To start, I don't know if this is normal, but I've seen these on a lot of cheaper TVs. They are bars(vary in width)that run up and down. They start on the right side of the screen and fade the more they go towards the center. I've seen these bars on all screen sizes of RCAs, GEs, and Magnavox. They always distracted me. They stand out most on solid black pictures, right before the movie starts, or on a video input with no source. My Sony is a 32S45. It's bars are not nearly as bad as other TVs I've seen. The brighter the black picture, the more these bars show up. These bars could have been there all along, but I just happened to notice them recently. Now they're driving me nuts. What's funny, is that the JVC 27", this 32" Sony replaced, doesn't have them. The JVC's picture is much worse and has an ugly green tint. I also notice the picture on the JVC has the right and left edges cut off. The Sony shows more viewing area, where as the JVC cuts it off at it's screen's edges. On my Sony, it actually shows about an 1 1/2" more on each side of the screen, where the JVC cuts this off. The bars on the Sony go roughly about 20% of the screen, on the right side, so I know this has nothing to do with it. I am really thinking these bars are normal, since I've seen them on numerous brands of televisions, but they are distracting, like interference. If my JVC doesn't have them, I don't see why the other brands do. If this is a known common problem among televisions, I will have a tech. out to fix right away. I just don't want to seem like a nit picker if this is a normal situation. Thanks for your future responses.
