Component video has twice the bandwidth on the color difference channels. This can give you deeper color saturation. The colors will also have less noise in them. The larger the screen, the more noticable it is.It also allows you to bypass the NTSC decoder. This can often eliminate the red push. Now if your TV allows you to adjust tint on component, then they are screwing around with the signal and all bets are off. Toshiba does this. Its still a better picture than S, but its not perfect.
