My advice is to go with the WEGA if flat screen is important to you. The WEGA is a beautiful set and you won't notice a whole lot of difference in DVD players past a certain point. Unless you're stepping up to a MERIDIAN, THETA, PROCEED, etc., a $300 player will look within a hair as good as a $600 player. The main difference here is features. My advice would be to go with a WEGA/Pioneer 525 combo or if flat screen isn't important to you (and you want to save a little $$$) check out a Toshiba cinema series TV with a Toshiba SD-1200 dvd player. I personally like TOSHIBA's TV's best, but that WEGA is very tempting.
