I've got a chance to buy a really nice set of speakers for a good price. Their magnepans' and everything I read, heard and seen about them tell me they need Lots of power to play them to their fullest. Problem is my wife wants our newly upgraded stereo system to also incorporate a Home Theater surround sound system with it. Instead of buying two individual setups I'd like to just buy a power 5 channel amp and nice preamp with processing abilities. I saw an ad for an Adcom amp, the GFA-7500 (225wpc X 5 into 4 ohms, or 150wpc into 8 ohms. What are the names of other powerful amps like this one? Do you think they would make the maggies sing when just listening to a musically setup of 2 channel selection?
