This is puzzling. Given that it is coming up on no source component being on with low volume setting, it might be some feedback in the system from a loose connection, or odd rf contamination from weak shielded cables and power cords interacting. My suggestion is to start by disconnecting everything in the system and have just the dsp1 connected to the speakers. See what happens. If nothing, then add each component one at a time and wait for the results. If you add component X and the sound comes on, then try checking the cables on it (maybe switch them with others, look for the power cord and see if it is entangled with the interconnects). Also, double check to see if the speaker connection isn't touching positive to negative (if spades, are they close to one another or touching).Best thing to do is to approach it by scaling back to the minimum and then add slowly piece-by-piece until you find the culprit. It may even be a defect with the dsp1 for some reason (e.g., bad connector for speaker output, internal wiring problem).
