I just purchased a Pioneer DV-09, part of the reason is it was on sale (due to discontinuation), also b/c I needed a DVD player, and also b/c it kicks the crap out of my Sony "current pulse D/A conversion" CD changer.Of course the DVD playback is awesome, but when I compared A/B the CD playback to other various players (CD-only players), the result was a unit that was destined to be part of my system. According to the salesman (I am always skeptical of these guys, they all sound the same) this Pioneer has CD playback comparable to the likes of Proceed and others in that stratosphere, but falls somewhat short of say Mark Levinson (they deal these also).
Anyone else have any comments on the CD playback ability of the DV-09? I am curious...thanks!
