It pretty much is economy of scale. If you must migrate from a receiver to the eliteist world of seperates, the most cost effective way of doing it is buy an amplifier first assuming your receiver has pre-amp outs. That's the way I am doing it.I'm in stage 1, almost to stage 2. I have a receiver doing the processing for a new Parasound HCA-1205a amp. The B&K Ref 30 is next.
