Here's the problem. I have a 5 year old Mitsubishi RPTV which does not have component inputs and is not HD capable. Want to get a new TV that does have those capabilities, but my wife says "no way, the old one still works fine."Now, say the one we have right now "happened" to blow up. We'd have no choice but to replace it. Unfortunately, this unit's been totally reliable, and looks like it is going to last forever. Can't do as I ususally do when I get a new piece of hi fi equipment; i.e., sneak it in and, when she finally notices, tell her we've had it for a long time.
So, any tricks on ways, short of taking a sledge hammer to it, I could get the old TV to fail?
