Re: is component always better than S-video?

Hi Jeff, I'm not so sure about the whole component versus the s-video thing. I'm using s-video and my neighbor is using component. I've got a Panasonic 36" and he has a Sony Wega 36". I think I've got a much better picture than he does, and to boot, he spent twice as much as I did!! I don't even like the color of the Sony cabinet(silver), it stands out against the picture tube. My Panasonic's cabinet (black) just sort of disappears when watching tv. So I'm happy with s-video. When I was doing my research for the perfect television, I decided it had to have component after all that I read about it. But I was in K-Mart one day and they had this tv on sale for $769.00, so I said the hell with component!! I've got cable connected via the cable coax, my vcr connected via rca connectors and the dvd player connected via s-video and it all works just fine. Hope that helped somewhat. Good luck in your quest. Peace SteveF
