The direct radiators at the back of our 7.1 system were recently replaced with diploe electrostats but, with minimal sound coming out the back most times, it did not make a dramatic difference. To have the front 3 & the two sides similar is much more important IMO and my experience.Drop me an email if you want to compare notes off line.
