DVP-S9000ES hook-up Question

I have one on order due in at theend of the week. My question is can I connect the Toslink to my Ref 20 and the co-ax to my outboard perptech gear (p1a/p3a/mono ps)at the same time? I wnat the toslink to the ref20 as the means for the DTS/DD signal and I use the 9000 as transport for Redbook. will this unit allow this or will I have to disconnect digital from perp to reconnect to ref20 everytime i want to play a movie or DTS surround disc? Are the Toslink and Coax live all the time or does one take precidence over the other?
