i have digital optical connection capability for my c.d. player to my digital reciever ( no dvd player yet ) . i am wondering what kind of sound improvement i could expect if i connect my c.d. player with digital optical cable. i'm wondering before i spend $ 40. for the cable !! also would it be wise to wait for the new season/generation dvd players ? i'll be spending in the $ 500. range and it seems the current ones in this range suffer from dreaded lip synch syndrome . any info appreciated
