the component video improvement is limited to your enhanced dvd collection, whereas a ISF certified technician with color comparator's overhaul improves viewing across the board. and on my monitor it's a hassle to switch unless you spend two days programming a univesal remote equipped with macro functions :-) no, i have not done it yet for fear of the futzing involved
