Re: How is the prog scan on it?

Yes, I use the Pioneer Elite DV-37 with Tributaries Component-Video cable for progressive-scan. I must say that I've been impressed with the results of DVD's like "The Natural" that make use of this feature. The image is scaled up, but doesn't fill the screen as the Tantus is not a Widescreen tv., but the image is crisp and more visually appealing than looking at a very narrow black box on a conventional set with no progressive-scanning. I'd say that even without the built-in progressive scanning, the Tantus is a bargain, I just wish maybe I'd waited until now to buy since the price has been cut. You'd be buying the Sony for the same amount, and with the Tantus, progressive-scan is a free feature, if you choose to look at it that way. I wish that maybe you could test out this feature for yourself before you buy, and see if you think it's worth it.
