I am looking for a DVD player to recommend to my dad who has an older Yamaha RX-V493 receiver. The receiver does not have a DD or DTS decoder nor optical inputs. He does not want to spend the $$$ on a new receiver right now, so I am looking for the best DVD player under $400 that has analog 5:1 audio RCA outputs that can connect directly to the receiver RCA audio inputs so that he can still get the DD & DTS experience through his system. I have narrowed it down to the Panasonic DVDRV80, but cannot find specifications ANYWHERE that conclusively indicate if it does indeed have analog RCA outputs. Can anyone clarify this for me? And, if there is another player I should take a look at in this price range, what is it?
