Unless you havea HD or 480progressive capable display, or front or rear projection, the benefits ofimplementing an HTPC will be minimal or invisible.
If you have a high end display, thenyou will notice the differences in quality.
Stick with your Samsung for now I think, worry about HTPC'swhen you upgrade your display.
