I have a 2ch tube system and love listening to music. I live in a small house so my stereo and TV are in the same room. I want to add a surround sound system using my current system as the 2 front chanels.I've been trying to research this and I think I have learned a few things. I could use more advice.
I think I need to buy a processor then connect the pre out on the processor to tape 2 on the tube pre-amp. Then run the remaining speakers off of the HT processor. I wonder if I can get an HT processor pre-amp would mean I'd need another amp too - I have a 5Ch solid state amp that I could try to work into this.
Any recommendations for a processor. I should mention I'm on a tight budget. I don't expect to buy anything new rather I hope to find a deal on the net. I'm looking for something at or below $500. I would like it to have the latest digital technology with the new dolby surround but I realize with my budget I will probably have to compromise.
Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.
