Anyone have experience with the Sony Cable Mouse?

I recently bought a Sony Cable Mouse so that I could use my VCR to control my cable box, but I can't get it to work. I was wondering if anyone else has used one and/or had trouble setting it up? Any help is greatly appreciated.
