I had the Sony V333ES and if you select subwoofer no in set up it will redirect the LFE to what ever speakers are set to large, fronts, rears, center, whatever. In addition, if you set the center or rears to small it would route the LFE/bass below the crossover point to whatever speakers are large (the front mains in this case). The one great thing about the Sony vs. my Yammaha RXV1 is the bass management, seperate crossover points between 40hz and up, every 10hz, for all speakers. I miss that.Hope this helped.
