Anthem (Sonic Frontiers) just came out with a new HT surround processor that does everything but walk your dog for you. It appears to be a significant upgrade from the previous AVS 2, not only in capability, but specifications as well (Noise, distortion, dynamic range, etc.) In addition it is reasonably priced at around $3200.Question is, How does it sound?? Is it competitive in sound quality with the EAD Theatermasters (Ovation, Signature), Meridian 568, Bryston SP-1, Cal 2500, Carver Sunfire Cinema Grand, Lexicon. I doubt, it will sound as good as the Theta Casablanca II or the top of the line Meridian, but if it sounds as good as the the pack of units listed above, they won't stay on the dealers shelves long.
Has anyone heard one yet? What do you think?
