Re: For DVD: Pro-Logic or Dolby Digital Receiver

My Yamaha HT reciever has a neat little surround function- its called 'NO EFFECT'! I find that there is ALWAYS a trade-off when a soundtrack is 'downmixed' to stereo (phasing and image placement suffer the worst).

You can select the DD track on a DVD, then hit the surround button, and voila- stereo sound! Most gear has a similar function (besides, sounds great on headphones at night as well!). You won't be getting the 'director's intended' sound, but thats another very hot topic these days.

Hope this helps,
Dman
