This post may be too late to do you any good -- you may have already bought your TV -- but based on my experience, I'd recommend the Sony WEGA. After you get the TV, buy a copy of the "Video Essentials" DVD and adjust the video settings (one step of which is to turn the "sharpness" control almost off).If you want to get really serious about maximizing the performance of any unit you buy, hire a technician who is trained by the Imaging Science Foundation (Joe Kane's company -- the guy who developed the "Video Essentials" disk) and have him calibrate your set.
The Sony WEGA series has a terrific picture, and is even better when properly calibrated.
