Since they can convert DD to PCM, you would think they could do the same with DTS, but I have not tried it, as I have zero DTS DVDs (I do have one DTS CD and a couple DTS LDs, I think). Regardless of whether or not it works or not, however, you are far better off running your DD or DTS signal into the appropriate decoder in a receiver or preamp/processor.Before I got my Marantz AV-9000, I had my Pioneer DV-414 configured to output PCM to utilize the sole digital input on my old Onkyo 909 receiver. There was a drastic improvement in sound quality when I got the Marantz and was able to run straight Dolby Digital. DVD players apparently do a relatively mediocre job of constructing a PCM signal out of a DD one, and really, this does not seem that surprising when you consider the nature of what is involved.
