If it matters to you, the Panny RP56 only has toslink output, and neither the RP56 nor Sony NS700 have a zoom mode (which I admit I have used on "certain" movies on my ancient Tosh 5109).Check out the other HT forums if you haven't already:

HometheatertalkIf I was going to buy today, I'd seriously consider the JVC 6x series (65 or 75 depending on color I think?), everyone seems to love it, and those that have compared it directly with the Sony and Panny like the JVC picture more. Plus it has zoom! You can find it for around $200.
