Several years ago, I replaced by Fosgate Four pro logic processor with a Rotel RSP-985 Dolby Digital unit. Although the DD on the Rotel is great, I noticed that, when watching ballgames and other pro logic encoded programs, the effect on the Rotel is virtually nil- all sound comes from the center. I recently had to have the Rotel serviced and, after hooking up the Fosgate as a temporary fix, was reminded of the differences beteen the units in pro-logic- the Fosgate sounded great during the World Series games- crowd in rear, announcer in center.
It sounded so good that I called the Rotel factory and asked that they also check out my unit to see if the pro logic was working OK.
I received the Rotel back and hooked it up tonight. The pro logic is still virtually invisible. Do I just have a lousy unit? Is it worth sending it back again?
Many thanks.
