Sony S7000 cannot play dual-layered DVDs

This problem just came up yesterday. I tried playing The Jackal and Tomorrow Never Dies, and the S7000 just wont do it. Instead, it displayed "insert disc" on my monitor. I have these 2 DVDs for over a year and never had any problem playing them before until now.
Does anyone have a similar problem?
