True enough, I suppose. The more pieces of hardware between point A and Point B, the more possibilities for problems. In the case of passing a video signal through a reciever, I think the only thing that is beeing done to it is switching operations but no processing. This should not in of itself be a problem. I think the problem with the HDTV signals is that the bandwidth of the signals may be breater than that of the switching cicuitry so that that the reciever becomes a filter of some sort. In the case of HK the figures for the two recievers were approximately 25Mzh and 35Mhz. I'd have to check back to be sure. I also checked with Pioneer on one of their low cost recievers and they cited 10Mhz. I'm not sure how wide the figure has to be to pass HDTV signals without problems attributable to limited bandwidth, however, when even the manufacturer tells you their product can't do something adequately, I'm inclined to believe them. (I'm more skeptical in the reverse situation!)
