well, i finally got a chance to go back to good guys and i bought this expensive ass monster 3 s-video cable, it was like 40 bucks or something... tried all vid sources to the denon, and that new s-vid to the tv, AND since the coax input on the tv was open, i also set up that avenue from the cable box's coax straight to the tv. did that make sense?anyways, all i had to do was change the tv source to channel 3 to see the direct cable picture, and "video 1" to see the cable box. guess what - when it was on the cable box source, video 1, the image was a little washed out, like the brightness setting had gone up several notches...naturally it didn't look natural. so i guess i'll have to stick with watching cable through the coax. it looks great, but i would have liked to have everything run through my new denon. but i'm happy i'm finally done with this mess - thanx dudez for all your help:)
