Blockbuster is slated for a national rental roll-out around Christmas, which should mean that the dvd rental market should really take off. The word is that dvd is growing faster than VHS did. As far as High Definition dvd, I would't hold my breath. The copyright protection concerns delayed the start of regular dvd. I can't imagine that hi-def dvd's would be allowed. Netflix, an internet rental company has (at last count) 3,700 discs to rent via the mail. They seem to be here to stay.
