I have had a Sony KP-53V75 tv for a few years and I have been running an s-video cable from my dvd player. I have recently begun an overhaul on my home theater which included a new set of cables for everything. The problem is that when I try to use the component video cables I get no picture whatsoever (asside from the display of video 4 & the volume control etc. but no picture from the dvd). I get the same behavior when running my receiver's on screen display through the component video. I have a 2nd cable I will be testing shortly (its shorter so I need to move alot of equipment so it can reach).
Assuming its the tv does anybody have any ideas of what this could be? Somehow I have misplaced the manual for my tv and cannot locate an online manual. Does anyone that is familiar with this tv know if there is some setting that needs to be changed to use the component inputs (all I am doing is just setting it to video 4 which is the component inputs). Sound works fine on the video 4 inputs if that makes any difference.
Any help would be appreciated (as well as a link to an online manual if it does exist).
