is there a good 27" TV??

Hi,

I am looking to get a new high end 27" TV, and so far I have looked at the Sony Wega, the Panasonic Tau, and the RCA TruFlat.

On the models sitting on the store's shelf, most pictures looked very sharp, with accurate colours, however on the Sony, any straight horizontal lines displayed on the bottom third of the screen looked wavy, as they approached the right side of the screen. I was surprised to see such obvious geometric distortion on a TV at this price leve, it would certainly be noticible when watching a leterboxed movie., or CNN for that matter.

On the Panasonic, the whole picture was crooked, maybe 1/2" off accross the whole screen. I did not notice either of these defects on the RCA, however the salesman quicky pointed out the RCAs have a history of not being reliable (I am not sure how he came to that conclusion with this specific model though, it hasn't been around very long) was this a tactic to sell me a (slightly) more expensive model, or is it true? Does anyone out there own a TruFlat RCA?

If anyone out there knows of a quality 27" TV, I would really like to know what my best bet is... so far the RCA is my first choice, based on what I saw in the store, however if it really is not a reliable TV I may as well just go for the plain 27" trinitron and get an LCD video projector in a few years... (CRT video projectors are nice, but living in an apartment I can't really screw it to the ceiling and set it up properly)

Thanks for any help,

Max
