Extending remote sensors...alternatives to Xantech?

207.178.211.66

Except for the TV and cable box, all my components concealed are behind a wooden cabinet door so their remote sensors are blocked. I've looked at the Xantech line of remote sensor extensions, but it seems expensive. By the time I'd buy the necessary Xantech components, it would cost about $50 per unit. I'd appreciate hearing about other alternatives for accessing the existing remotes on my concealed gear (receiver, vcr, cpd, dvd).
