Ok, I have the opportunity to sell my DVD player and upgrade to DVD-A.
I have 3 choices in my budget:
1) Toshiba DVD 4700 ($239)
2) Toshiba DVD 5700 ($259)
3) Toshiba DVD 9200 ($629)Option #3 is a higher end, but older player. None of these units have bass management unfortunately. I know the
9200 must be configured for DVD-A when listening to DVD-A and then reconfigured to pass a bitstream for DD
when I use my internal decoder from my preamp.
My questions are as follows:
1) Do the 4700/5700 have this problem as well?
2) Do any of these players pass a 96/24 DVD-V audio out from the digital outputs?
3) Which player has the best video and audio?
4) Are there any other sub $1000 players to consider?I want to finally be able to sit in my home with my system to do objective comparisons between DTS and
DVD-A. Thanks.
