While I've also heard that other cheaper players marginally outperfom the 9000 in terms of video quality, the differences in video quality among DVD players is miniscule. Also, the "chroma bug" is blown way out of proportion. For audio the only other DVD players that outperform the Sony are considerably more expensive.I bought the 9000 because of its performance, features, warranty, and build quality. While other cheaper players may equal or surpass the 9000 in the first two cases, they don't come close to the 9000 in the last two. I have a feeling the 9000 will be my last DVD player for a very long time.
