The X-Box will output 480p or 1020i through it's component outputs only on games that support this feature, DOA 3 and some football game were the only ones that did it at launch, I'm not sure what current games are programmed for it. PS2 I'm not so sure about, but I'm 90% sure that it doesn't do progressive or hi res interlace. The Gamecube (the only system I own) will output 480p through its component outputs for most games. And the Sega Dreamcast (Oh yeah I forgot I own that one too) with its VGA box and a VGA to component adapter will output 640 X 480.post scriptum. One would buy a PS2 for its incredible games rather than its resolution as it is the worst looking next gen system (including the older dreamcast)
