Thanks for the picture Earl. Wow! Yes, the 9000ES looks like a real heavy duty unit with lots of quality parts. Yet, video performance is related to the type of chips used. Newer chips such as the Faraudja's DCDi chip used in Philips DVDR 1000 are reported to offer much improved video performance. I am hoping the dust will settle soon. It is just too bad that the 9000ES is not upgradable.
