These are pretty cheap, at Radio Shack or Wal-Mart among others. I use one from Black Box, maybe way too expensive for your consideration but works excellently, besides having amplifiers that easily send the "split" high rez VGA (much higher rez than any TV-type video) signals ~200' and they still look EXCELLENT. So, it doesn't take too much tech to make a good splitter. I have never seen a Y made of video coax, but even if there is one the impedance problems alone would lead to degraded signal quality instantly, regardless of cable length.
