NAD C370 vs Flagship AV for stereo

General consensus is that AV amp are never as good as music amp for 2-Ch stereo music. I was wondering whether flagship amps like the Yamaha AZ1 or other similarly priced AV would be as good as a music amp like the C370. Would appreciate feedback. Thanks.
