Bet the wife I could get down to my high-school weight again. Scoffing, she offered up $10K for home theater as an incentive, thinking she'll never have to pay up.I was 179 lbs. Now I'm 169 lbs. It's so close I can taste it. (Of course that's the only thing I taste these days.)
The system will be:
McCormack MAP-1 Preamp/Processor
McCormack HT-1 5 Channel Amplifier
Sony 555ES
DVD Player with Dolby Digital and DTS decoding inside
I'll be getting the McCormack MAP-1 (Multichannel Analog Music Processor) in June or so, along with their HT-5 multichannel amp. (McCormack is very synergistic with Vandersteen speakers, and I have the full 5.1 Vandy setup--2Ce fronts, VCC-1 center, V2W sub and VSM-1 surronds). The goal is a very simple to use, sonically pleasing music system that will also do home theater. Music comes first.
The problem? The MAP-1 has no DTS or Dolby digital decoding in it. All video decoding is player-based. What's the BEST DVD player with internal decoding?
Please address me as fatass and heap as much abuse/encouragement as you can. I can take it.
