DVD burners & Toshiba 6200, 2200, 1750 DVD players

Hi folks,
I am thinking about buying a PC-based DVD burner and would like to know if anyone here has had experience burning and then playing DVD-Rs on any of the above Toshiba DVD players. According to Toshiba, these models are not certified as DVD-R compatible, yet any websites that I've checked say that these models play DVD-Rs without problems.
Secondly has anyone tried DVD-RWs or DVD+RWs on these machines?
