well so far I can make the lights go on and turn them off againbut I do this by pluging and un-pluging
oh
and there's no ground on the damned thing (it floats)
(that's how you can tell "lo-fi" from "hi-fi"...."lo-fi" doesn't have ground loops)
i've read the owner's manuals (yes there are several) in English and French, and they seem to be equally useful (I don't understand French, and apparently, I don't understand English either)
for now, I'm plugging my wires directly into the display, and swapping them out when I need to change sources...
but, the Denon looks marvelous...with all those alphanumeric acronyms in gold over the black faceplate...
i figure by the time i lean how to make sound come out of the damned thing it will be going for $300 on E-bay.
as for video...matching the picture with the sound...no hope...
this is proof that the Japanese have not forgiven us for Hiroshima & Nagasaki
i'm going to try "exposing this appliance to rain and moisture"...it might knock-out enough circuits to make it a passable stereo preamp...
the horror...
