whenever my new Sony STR-de985 detects an audio signal it flashes on the display PCM 48KHz I have searched the manual several times and am unable to find any reference to what PCM is what it does how to adjust it or if I should even care. Thanks in advancePs I replaced a Denon avr 1200 with this unit and am very pleased I dont usually buy Sony but I got a great deal at the sony family store (friend who works at sony) and I am totally impressed with this unit.
