While shopping for a pre/pro my assumption has been, based on my experience with a NAD T-770 receiver, was that all pre/pros do PCM digital to analog conversion. Recently, however, a sales guy selling MacIntosh home theater pre/pros indicated that this was not the case. After looking up the available spec's for all the pre/pros on my audition list, I discovered that the Bryston SP-1 and SP-1.7 are the only pre/pros that seem to advertise PCM digital to analog conversion capabilities.
Is there anybody who can push me higher up the learning curve here?
Thanks you in advance,
Mike Bear
