My trusty old VR3200 can't be fixed (needs an RF modulator). I guess 15 years is pretty good service. I haven't shopped for a VCR in 15 years, so I'd appreciate input on shopping points for an economical replacement in the current market. We mainly want it for playback of the VHS library, a very occasional recording of a broadcast, and reasonable stereo sound quality. Our VCR use is now pretty light.
I know they're not building bullet-proof models like the 35 lb. VR3200 anymore. I see many major brand 4-head units for under $200 and much less for the budget stuff. 15 years ago, there was a huge range of performance quality in VCRs. Are there any big discriminators today? Thanks in advance.
