Wow! I found a sub for my Michaura HT system!

Synergy! My office system is modest. Sony STRDB1070 6 channel receiver, new Sony NS715P DVD player, 4 Michaura (built by Axiom) M55 speakers, Merak MC6H center channel speaker (2 x 6.5" drivers, 1 7"x3" horn tweeter, also built by Axiom) and the newest addition, a 15" Dahlquist PDQ15 subwoofer. How sweet and powerful this combination sounds! The bass is accurate, clean and sounds like it's coming from the speakers rather than the sub.

I'm watching KPAX and I'm at the movies! (43" Hitachi HDTV).

I'd like to compare this system to my main HT system. This system is much more elaborate - Onkyo THX receiver, same Merak MC6H center , big M665 Michaura towers, a pair of Michaura M55 side surrounds, a pair of Mission 77ds back surrounds driven by an outboard Denon PMA500V amplifier (2x85watts), and a pair of subwoofers, a Klipsch LF10 and Velodyne CHT100 (10"), Toshiba SD9200 DVD-A.

Now, don't get me wrong, this big system sounds terrific, but I must have it set up incorrectly. Even with 2 subs, all that power, the Sony/Dahlquist system has more slam, and the bass is more ... integrated sounding.

I think what makes the difference is the Sony in comparison to the Onkyo. I have to double check the connections

For those with the Michaura M55s, you know how sweet they are from mid bass on up to the most tinkly, sparkly highs.

Another thought. If you ever have the chance to grab a Merak MC6H center channel speaker, grab it!! They're cheap and if they don't blow away your current and expensive center channel, you have quite a center channel!
