I just picked up an Samsung SIR-T151 HDTV tuner. I works just fine but if you know me I can't leave anything alone. Opening the top I saw the switcher supply and tv tuner can. Then I spotted two 5 volt regulators. One located by the supply and another by the tuner can. Each had 47uf caps at their inputs and outputs. I added 1000uf caps on top of these and then had a look-see if it made any difference. Not much, so back in I went. Next, I saw that there are chokes and caps going into many of the IC's. These caps were 47uf or 100uf. I added caps to six or seven 1000uf caps on top of these small caps and had another look-see. Now, it got better! When you change channels the box gives you a TV# each time. Those letters "TV" and the channel number were blurry before, now they are clean and sharp. Each is made up of little square blocks stacked this way or that. They are clear and sharp and easy to see. The video that was good before is now knock out good looking! If you have one of these tuners don't be afraid to go in and FIX it. Good Luck, bobwire
