DVD hookup question

My first player. (Pan rp55 from Ebay). I want to hook up the output so that I can make vhs backups, should I so desire. I intend to connect the backup system via dvd s-video out (with composite adapter) to the composite inputs of my 15-year-old pre-Macrovision vcr deck, and to go out from there to the inputs on my current vcr. I also want to output from dvd composite to the vid in on my (also ancient) TV. My question: can I output simultaneously from s-video and composite vid outs?
