Anybody Test Signal Difference Between Component & DVI Outputs on HD Cable?

12.251.188.29

Just got my Comcast HD cable box today. Surprised (well, not really) on how untrained the installers are on HD. Asked if he could hook up the digital audio to decode 5.1 for me. He proceeded to pull out a component video/stereo audio cable for hook-up. I told him that would only get me analog, 2-ch. sound...seeing the confused look, I explained how it should be done. He said that was the only cable they give him for HD hook-ups. He thanked me for the education and actually was disappointed at the training he'd received.

Anyway...I've got myself a brand spankin' new Motorola DCT5100 HD box & was surprised to see a DVI output. Has anyone tested the component vs. DVI outputs on HD cable and seen a difference. I have the PVP video processor card in my Proceed DVD transport that converts ALL video in my system to progressive scan, so I know I can benefit from this hook-up (which is component) for standard broadcasts, but I wonder if I'll get a benefit from running the DVI right to the Pioneer Elite RPTV for HD broadcasts.
